Director of Development
The Greensand Trust
Vicky Martin, Chief Executive of Heartlands comments on the role of play within the exciting development:-
“Play is a huge part of Heartlands’ ethos and the adventure playground is a terrific draw for families. Designed by local children and inspired by Cornish history and legend, the playground is the largest and wildest in Cornwall. Timberplay have been the ideal partner, their enthusiasm has been infections and they have supported us every step of the way.”
Stephen Harvey, Centre Developments Officer for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust :-
“The design for this play area capitalised exceptionally well on the available space, to create a play area that appeals to children of all ages. We now have a challenging and beautiful setting to complement our site. It has been enormously rewarding working with Timberplay, a company which we believe shares many of WWT’s core values in the way we approach the world and negotiate through it.”
Robert Nicholson, Farm Manager at Cannon Hall Farm
Considering the size of the site we believe we already achieve optimum visitor numbers with 220,000 per annum, however, with plans to increase the admission costs in the near future, what is important to us is ensuring we can provide superior value for money. This investment in play is only the first stage in our redevelopment program, next year we are planning several major changes to the farm, increasing the opportunities for secondary spend and enhancing the whole visitor experience further.
Play has always been important to us and our visitors and we now feel that we have taken this to the next level. I was very impressed with the Timberplay product range and moreover their whole approach to play – it was this ethos that drove me to choose Timberplay to create an adventure playground which we believe to be one of the County’s best”
