Timberplay gets playful at the prestigious Hurlingham Club
Timberplay has installed a £350,000 state of the art play space at the prestigious Hurlingham Club in London.
The exclusive members´ club offers a wide selection of sporting and recreational facilities and wanted to complement this with a contemporary play space with strong natural elements — and decided Timberplay´s product range fitted the bill perfectly.
Bordering the Thames in Fulham, West London, The Hurlingham Club covers 42 acres of magnificent grounds, with a striking Georgian Clubhouse for members use. As more members now attend the club with their children, The Hurlingham Club decided to update their child facilities and called in Timberplay to create a play space that works in harmony with the stunning natural landscape. Ben Harbottle, Senior Designer of the project at Timberplay comments on this new play area: -
“We were thrilled to receive an enquiry from The Hurlingham Club to discuss how Timberplay could enhance the facilities on the ground and were delighted to be awarded the contract. To be chosen by one of the most well-respected Private Members´ Clubs in the World is something of a coup for us and we shall be working hard to ensure the finished project is worthy of the illustrious surroundings.”
The rustic play space is split into two areas, a toddler zone and an adventure zone. As a centrepiece the play area, has what is thought to be the largest Climbing Forest in the UK. Alongside this are two tree houses with interlinking platforms and bridges, together with climbing walls and balance beams. Toddlers will also be kept amused with suitable play equipment and a water play area.
