Testimonials & Praise

What our clients think of us...

Tom PearcyOwner of York Maze

York Maze is one of Yorkshire´s best loved attractions and to make it even better we added three new play areas in 2008. We used Timberplay to design, supply and install the equipment as they have a good reputation and come highly recommended.

It was important for the feel of the Maze that we worked with someone like Timberplay that offers natural play designs for a very rustic setting like ours. As we are in a green belt area it was important that they fitted our ethos of low impact, environmentally friendly play. They also understand what makes a good play experience for children of all ages. For an attraction like ours it is important that we generate repeat business from our customers and to do this we have to ensure that all the play elements remain interesting, valuable and fun — which is something that Timberplay understood from the start.

I would recommend Timberplay for their efficiency, adherence to timescales and their quality of workmanship.

Julie BrandonGreen Spaces Officer, Aylesbury Vale District Council

In the past four years, Timberplay have completed a total of five new play space projects for Aylesbury Vale District Council. Timberplay area a competent and efficient company and I would be happy to recommend them for design, supply and installation purposes. In answer to other questions raised:

Quality of Workmanship — The quality of products and workmanship has been consistently good throughout the delivery of all our play space projects. In addition where a completed project site required remedial works often following a period of public usage Timberplay have always responded quickly to rectify any issues, and have done so at their own expense. General after care with regards to maintenance has also been very good.

Completion Timescales — Projects have been always delivered on time, with the only exception being where severe weather conditions have hindered progress.

Delivering on Budget — All our projects have been delivered within the specified budget.

Adherence to Health and Safety Procedures — Timberplay Ltd demonstrated good adherence to H & S procedures and in addition provide descent welfare facilities for staff working on site.

Robert RushProject Manager, Little Wormwood Scrubs Adventure Playground, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
I am delighted to confirm practical completion as 2 July 2009.
The official opening of the play area was on Saturday 4 July. The Royal Borough expresses appreciation for the Herculean efforts made by [the Timberplay] team of installers in getting this project completed in such a short period of time and in adverse weather conditions.

Jane Smedley - Leisure & Projects Officer, Clackers Brook Play Area, West Wiltshire District Council

The play area has proved more popular that we could have imagined, it seems to be very well used by all age groups. We have had a few anti-social behavior problems which we are dealing with but overall the equipment and design have been very well received and have created a stir within Melksham. The impact has been unbelievable with children across all age ranges playing together quite happily and allowing use of all pieces of equipment. The see-saw has proved difficult for some children and all ages seem to enjoy the wobble dish. The local school across the stream has even been seen using the play area during the daytime with their disabled children. I can even report that the grass has started growing on the mounding.

Lyn McLay Kidd (Landscape Officer) & Brian Royden-Hall (Parks Development Officer) - Hylands Adventure Castle

Timberplay were selected for this recent installation at Hylands Park Estate as they could offer a quality design service to create a bespoke piece of play equipment, together with its construction and installation. We provided a design brief based on substantial public consultation and working with them we developed and formed the first phase of this scheme.

We have found their services in all these areas to be excellent and their on-site installation team were ever cheerful and helpful, even when ground conditions and weather was appalling. The six week installation service, where a toolbox visit inspection was undertaken, was excellent and provided our in-house team an opportunity to ask questions after actual use of the product. With regard to the end product, we feel Timberplay have helped create a unique high quality feature, which fits into this historic landscape and will age beautifully. Our staff feel reassured knowing the after sales service is there if we should need it for any advice and, subject to future funding being available, would wish to add to the scheme using this company. We would be happy to recommend Timberplay for similar installations.

General Comments:

"I just wanted to write to say how much we are enjoying the new musical toys that have been installed in Paddy Freeman's Park, Newcastle. My daughter loves them and the sound of the music ringing through the park with the children's laughter is lovely. They are so different from normal playground toys. Well done!"  - Helen Simmons (via email), Park visitor.

"All staff have excellent customer relation skills" - Lynn Stevens, Client Services, Wychavon District Council.

"Climbing Forest... you have to experience it to appreciate it." - Phil Nicholson, BDG (Bedford Park East Play Area)

"Only concern was the company laying the safety surface did not provide the same level of service as Timberplay installers. The [Timberplay] installation team were excellent" - M Pettane, Randolf Beresford Children's Centre.

“Just a line to say how pleased we are with the way the playground installation went. The guys on site were really helpful with ideas for small changes to layout which was much appreciated and they took exactly 15 working days as planned! Well done. The site is now greening up nicely.” - Gerry Pittaway, RSPB Rainham Marshes.
