Our Principles

PLAY VALUE

Play value is the sum of the play experiences delivered by a piece of equipment, a landscaping feature or an entire play space. Integral to all we do, this means creating spaces that offer varied play experiences and challenges which deliver superior physical, mental and social benefits for children.

LANDSCAPE LED PLAY

Our in house landscape architects are able to turn any space into an area made for children’s play. They exploit the natural play value inherent within the landscape and ensure all products complement the setting. This is highly important to ensure that play value is intrinsic throughout the site, across the products and the landscape.

REASONABLE RISK

Richter Spielgeräte’s Julian Richter has inspired the way we approach reasonable risk: play should have “as much risk as possible, as little safety as necessary.” Risk is a key way children learn and understand physical limits and decision making, this makes it a vital part of shaping independence.

COLLABORATIVE APPROACH

Our flexibility and collaborative approach to working means that alongside Landscape Architect firms we can give support to clients’ and meet their specific targets and objectives. Doing this ensures that any play space with our equipment will provide the highest possible levels of play value possible.

DURABILITY

Richter equipment primarily uses Mountain Larch as the main wood species for their products. Growing between 1000-1800mm above sea level, these timbers are incredibly slow growing, resulting in unbeatable durability. High durability also enables Richter to use un-treated timbers, thus reducing children’s interaction with chemically enhanced products.

MAINTENANCE

We believe that it is not possible to have a play space with play value without some maintenance. To ensure that maintenance is as easy as possible Richter ensure that maintenance is low cost and that spare parts can be shipped and distributed within as little as 48 hours.
