In the Thomas Playground, we've reimagined what true inclusion looks like. This is more than just adding a wheelchair-accessible swing — it's about designing a space where every child, regardless of ability, feels welcome, engaged, and inspired to play together.
Too often, accessibility is reduced to a single piece of specialist equipment — which can unintentionally highlight differences and create segregation. With the help of Accessible UK, we asked a different question:
‘What if every child could feel included in the play experience, even if not every element was accessible to everyone?’
By lifting the constraints of budget and focusing on creativity, we were able to dream up a play space that doesn’t limit any child’s experience. A place for shared laughter, discovery, and belonging — not just access.
This is our vision for inclusive play.
It's not built. Not yet.
But it’s a blueprint for what’s possible — and a reminder that we, as an industry, can do so much better.
